Editorial & Corrections Policy
This page explains how content on View Point Spot is researched, written, reviewed and corrected. We publish this so readers and contributors know what to expect from us and what we hold ourselves to.
Our Editorial Approach
Every article on View Point Spot is meant to answer a real question or solve a real problem for the reader. Before anything is published, we check it against a few basic standards:
Accuracy. Facts, figures, prices and claims should be checked and, where possible, traced back to a reliable source.
Clarity. The article should be easy to read and understand, without unnecessary jargon.
Usefulness. The content should give the reader something they can actually use, not just general information padded out to fill space.
Originality. Articles are written specifically for us. We don't publish copied, spun or lightly reworded content from other sites.
Content that doesn't meet these standards is sent back for revisions before it's published, regardless of who wrote it.
How Articles Are Reviewed
Whether an article comes from our own writers or a contributor, it goes through the same basic review steps:
Initial read. An editor checks whether the topic, angle and information are a good fit.
Fact and source check. Claims, statistics and specific details are checked against the sources provided or independently verified where needed.
Edit for clarity. Editors may adjust structure, headings or wording to make the article easier to follow. Substantial changes are discussed with the writer when possible.
Final approval. The article is approved and scheduled for publishing or sent back with notes if changes are still needed.
We may update or lightly edit older articles over time to keep information current, especially for topics like prices, availability or regulations that change.
What We Don't Do
We don't publish sponsored content without clearly labeling it as sponsored or paid.
We don't accept payment in exchange for favorable coverage or reviews.
We don't allow outside parties to edit or approve final content.
We don't publish claims we can't reasonably support with a source or clear reasoning.
Corrections Policy
We take factual accuracy seriously and mistakes can still happen. If something on the site is wrong, outdated or misleading, we want to know.
Types of corrections we make:
Factual errors an incorrect date, price, name, statistic or similar detail
Outdated information content that was accurate when published but has since changed
Broken or incorrect links
Misattributed information or sources
How we handle a correction:
We review the reported issue against the original source or current information.
If a correction is needed, we update the article as soon as reasonably possible.
For minor fixes (typos, broken links, small wording issues), we update the article without a separate note.
For substantive corrections (a factual error that changes the meaning of the content), we add a short correction note at the bottom of the article stating what was changed and when.
We don't remove or unpublish articles simply because they need a correction. We fix the specific error and keep the rest of the article intact, unless the entire piece turns out to be based on incorrect information.
How to Report an Error
If you spot something that needs correcting, use our Contact us form and include:
A link to the article
The specific information you believe is incorrect
A source or explanation supporting the correction, if you have one
Select "Editorial Correction" as the reason for contact, if that option is available, so it reaches the right person faster.
We review correction requests as quickly as we can, though the time needed can vary depending on how much verification is involved.
Questions About Our Process
If you have a broader question about how we source, write or review content, you're welcome to reach out through the same Contact Us form. This policy may be updated from time to time as our editorial process evolves.
