Write For Us & Pitch Guidelines

View Point Spot publishes practical, well-researched content for readers who want clear answers, not filler. If you enjoy explaining things simply and you do your research properly, we'd like to hear from you.

This page explains what we publish, what we expect from a pitch and how to send one.

What We Publish

We cover a range of categories, including:

  • Travel and destination guides

  • Lifestyle and home

  • Technology and how-to content

  • Food and recipes

  • Business and finance basics

  • Health and wellness (general information only)

  • Product guides and comparisons

We're less interested in the topic itself and more interested in how well it's covered. A simple topic explained clearly is worth more to us than a big topic explained poorly.

What We Look For

A good pitch or draft usually has these things in common:

  • A clear angle. Not "travel tips" but something specific, like "what to check before booking a homestay in a small town."

  • Real usefulness. The reader should walk away knowing something they didn't before or able to make a decision they couldn't make before.

  • Simple language. We write for people, not for search engines. Short sentences and plain words are preferred over technical or flowery language.

  • Original work. We only accept content written specifically for us. No recycled articles, no content already published elsewhere and no lightly reworded versions of other sites' work.

  • Accuracy. No invented statistics, fake quotes or made-up personal experience. If you haven't tested something yourself, don't write as if you have.

Topics We Won't Accept

  • Promotional content disguised as an article

  • Content with unverifiable medical, legal or financial claims

  • Listicles with no real explanation behind each item

  • Content copied or paraphrased from another site

  • Political opinion pieces or anything designed to provoke rather than inform

How to Submit

You don't need to email us a pitch first. You can create a contributor account and submit your article directly through our site.

  1. Create an account. Sign up on our contributor portal with your name, email and a short bio.

  2. Start a new submission. Once logged in, use the "New Article" option to write or paste your draft directly or upload it.

  3. Add the basics. Fill in the article title, category, a short summary and any sources you used for facts, prices or data.

  4. Submit for review. Once submitted, your article goes into our editorial queue. You'll be able to see its status (in review, needs changes, approved or published) from your account dashboard.

There's no need to wait for approval before writing. If your finished article doesn't fit our guidelines, our editors will leave comments on what to fix and you can resubmit it from the same account.

Most submissions are reviewed within a week. You'll get a notification (by email and in your dashboard) once a decision is made.

Formatting Guidelines

If your pitch is accepted, please follow these formatting basics:

  • Use short paragraphs (2–4 sentences)

  • Use headings (H2/H3) to break up sections

  • Include a short introduction that gets to the point quickly

  • Avoid AI-sounding phrases like "in today's fast-paced world" or "let's dive in"

  • Add a source link for any statistic, price or specific claim

  • End with something practical, not a generic summary

Typical article length is 1,200–2,000 words, though this depends on the topic. A simple explainer can be shorter. A detailed guide can run longer. We'd rather have a well-covered short piece than a padded long one.

Bylines and Attribution

Accepted articles are published with your byline and the short bio from your contributor profile. You can add a link to your own site or portfolio in your profile settings and we'll confirm whether it fits our linking policy once your first article is reviewed.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to pitch an idea before writing? No. You can go straight to writing and submitting through your account. A quick outline is optional but not required.

Do you accept paid guest posts? No. We evaluate submissions on quality and fit, not on payment.

Can I submit more than one article at a time? Yes. Each submission is reviewed separately from your dashboard, so you can have several in progress at once.

Can I edit an article after submitting it? Yes, as long as it hasn't been published yet. If it's already published and you need a correction, contact us through your account and we'll review the change.

Can I submit a topic that's already on your site? Only if you have a genuinely different angle or new information to add. Duplicate coverage of the same angle won't be accepted.

Will I be paid for my article? This depends on the arrangement in place for your contributor account. Check your profile or contact us before submitting if this isn't clear.

Can I republish the article elsewhere later? Once published on View Point Spot, the article should not be republished elsewhere in the same or a similar form, to avoid duplicate content issues for both sites.
